Itinerary

Day Highlights
1-3
Beijing
China’s Living Capital
Our journey begins in Beijing, where the stories of emperors meet the buzz of a global capital. Students step through the Forbidden City, imagining the pageantry that once filled its courtyards. They’ll cycle through hutongs, meeting artisans for hands-on lessons in calligraphy and paper-cutting. A day on the Great Wall at Mutianyu brings breathtaking views and a sense of the determination behind one of humanity’s greatest feats. From the charm of Qianmen Street to the glass towers of the Central Business District, students see how Beijing blends tradition with modern ambition. Evenings are for connection—sharing Peking duck, laughing over hot pot, and making memories that last long after the trip.
4-7
Xi’an
Echoes of the Ancient Empire
Next, we take a high-speed train to Xi’an, the ancient capital and gateway to the Silk Road. Students cycle atop the City Wall, taking in sweeping views of the old city, then dive into the bustling Muslim Quarter, where the air is filled with the scent of fresh bread, skewers, and spices. A half-day school exchange gives them the chance to join local classes, practice Mandarin, and connect with their peers through shared activities and building friendships. Standing face-to-face with the Terracotta Army, they witness one of the world’s most extraordinary archaeological discoveries, before sculpting their own miniature warriors in a hands-on pottery workshop. Evenings bring a festive dumpling banquet and the dazzling Tang Dynasty Palace Show, where music, dance, and brilliant costumes transport students back to China’s golden age. In Xi’an, history doesn’t just sit in museums—it lives and breathes in every street, market, and moment.
8-10
Chengdu
Heart of Sichuan
Our final stop is Chengdu, a city known for its relaxed charm, rich culture, and beloved giant pandas. We spend a day as panda volunteers, feeding, cleaning, and learning about these treasured creatures at a conservation center. In the heart of the city, we explore Kuanzhai Alley and Jinli Ancient Street, discovering Sichuan’s culinary and artistic traditions through a hands-on cooking class and lively interactions with locals. At People’s Park, we join residents for morning exercises and tea before delving into the artistry of Beijing Opera face painting. As our journey draws to a close, a mesmerizing Sichuan Face-Changing performance leaves us inspired by the region’s theatrical brilliance.
